Hi everyone, this is my last blog and I will talk about my experience learning English and my relationship with it.

First at all, I have to say I like the idioms very much in general and how the English was the first different idiom I learnt, it was a big adventure learnt it. I think the English in the university is misunderstood, it is a powerful tool for us and not just when we’ll in another country but talk with foreign people or to read texts in the idiom.

In respect of my level of English, I think I must to improve my oral interactions because I know that I know English, but it’s shame for me to speak it just because I don’t practice it a lot. Actually, I just use my English to hear songs, films, series and that kind of things, I read a little when someone ask me for a translation. But this semester, with some friends, decided to make the Wednesday a “English day”, we try to talk as long as we can in English, but it don’t work at all because we finish the day just joking with it. Although, it’s a beginning.

I wish that in a future I’ll have the possibility to live outside the country, maybe in New Zealand or Ireland or Italy or Germany, and work in these countries, make a good life, I don’t know, I’m still so young. But I dream to settle in other country and travel a lot. I wish I can make my dreams come true.

my career's curriculum

Hi guys, today I will talk about the curriculum of my career. It’s very important because it defines the kind of professional that we are and our professional future.

Firstly, the curriculum is so focused on the building, it’s all about the building, the landscape is not so important and the theory is almost nothing next to the building, I think the things are like this because “an architect is who construct something and if you don’t construct anything in you life, then you are not an architect”. Maybe it is the reason because workshop it all in the career for everyone.

Secondly, the new curriculum has things that academics didn’t think like the amount of quotas in the electives, the electives itself (some courses are exactly the same in the old curriculum and they change the curriculum to renovate all the courses, but, in the practice, it didn’t work), like the work practice, this semester we have to take “work practices” and it was just work with other programs inside the workshops and with the same project.

A very important thing is that we are taking the specialty courses that the want us to take, I’m referring they offer us a lot of courses about construction and history, but they didn’t think in the people that wants to follow the landscape line. I know a lot of people that are saying “I am in the wrong university, here are not courses that I want”

Finally, the faculty don’t have the recurses to accommodate all the students, so we have to be where we fit in.

What is your opinion about "vertical ghettos"?

I think the vertical ghettos are ethically very bad because it’s no normal for the body live in a 40 floor. The gutters are exceeding of water in winter because they are no designed to support that volume of water, adding the rain water too. The people that live here need more and more elevators, and in 5 years the elevators will not support all the people, I know it because I live in a vertical ghetto.

What is your opinion about legalizing abortion in all cases?

The abort it’s a way for the women to become more independent. I am not referring it just independent of man, but the child too. There are women that are not been to be a mother or not in that moment. Also, you can’t trust just in the contraceptive methods, it doesn’t have a 100% of effectiveness and these always have accumulative secondary effects in your body. As well, I know it for self-experience. The most important is I want to have a child when my conditions allows me.

What is your opinion about contraception?

Following with above, of course I don’t want to abort every time I get pregnant. It has very bad effects in your body and it must to be used when you have no more options. Because of this, these methods exist (thanks the medicine and not God, he doesn’t invent it) and I can control my cycle. But, like anything, it has very bad second effects in the body.

What is your opinion about tattoos?

Tattoos are a kind of human expression. You can’t just prohibit it. Unfortunately, it has so many bad prejudges but it are all a social construction. To have more or less or none tattoo don’t prove how the person is, how a person can do some job, or if she/he is sympathetic or anything. A few times ago I applied for a job and they didn’t accept me for my only and small tattoo ☹
