Hi guys. I
will talk about an important topic for me. Feminism. I think the feminism is in
my life since I was a child, near the 13 years old. I didn’t understand why I
had to go to the school with a skirt and not with pants, or with the teachers
justified some attitudes from men but not for women or from women but not for
men.
The first
strong wave for me comes in 2015 when I was going to pre-university courses and
some teachers had priority with the men in math for example, and for women in language.
the second one comes this year with all the universities movements. I think I truly
can’t live with chauvinism, not today and not in 10 years. I know it’s a thing
so inside of the culture, not just in our culture but in all cultures, that it’s
hard trying to change and not fall in fallacies.
The past
week I had to read a book of Silvia Federici called “El patriarcado del salario”,
in this book basically tell us that capitalism was made for oppress the women
in the epoque of the first industrial revolutions. You may think ¿how? It’s so
simple, they got the women out of the industry by creating a familiar salary, the
families just received one pay although the mother, father and any child work
in the same industry. The “reason” was “there is no one who take care of the
child or the house”, “the women start to have men behaviors and that goes
against our moral”, “the women don’t want to get pregnant and we need young
people in the industries”.
I would can
talk about feminism for a long time because it’s important to me. I don’t want
to get a low salary for the same job that men do because I’m just a woman or
pay more in the ISAPRES because “I can have more health issues” or have no job
because I get pregnant or I have a child. I actually don’t want to be a mother
and it goes against the moral of my family but I can’t do anything to change my
family so…
